SUBMITTERS: Correct contact information is important for browsers to enable their verifying the information in this collection of Family Group Sheets. But people move and/or change Internet providers and/or establish new e-mail addresses to cut down on SPAM. Whatever the reasons for the changes, submitters should try to keep their contact information current. Use the link below to report changes in your contact information and update your submitter profile.
BROWSERS: As a natural part of their genealogical research process, browsers will wish to contact some individual submitters about the information they contributed to this site. Such browsers will use the mailto link in a submitter's profile to send them a contact message (either to correct information or ask for further details).
If that e-mail bounces back, it could mean (1) submitter has changed Internet providers and/or changed their e-mail address, (2) submitter is experiencing temporary access problems (full mailbox, ISP down for maintenance, etc.), or (3) submitter's SPAM control routine is not allowing a browser's message to be received.
- In the case of 2 & 3, a bounce message is usually received indicating the problem. All the browser can do is try again later or follow whatever instructions the SPAM control software indicates.
- If a browser can determine that a submitter's e-mail address is no longer valid and will NEVER be valid, they should use the link below to report a bad e-mail address. Such bad addresses will be noted in out database.
- If a browser knows of a new valid e-mail address for a submitter, they should use the link below to report it. The Project coordinators will then test the new address and get permission to change the e-mail address in our system.
Report changed e-mail addresses, locations, or new web page URLs to fgs_change@ohgenweb.net
